RECRUITING: Texas OL waiting for Mom's approval

Texas OL Cory Brandon talks about his recent trip to Norman and when he might pull the trigger.

Cory Brandon, OL, 6-6, 255, 5.1, CORSICANA, TEXAS:

JH: You took an unofficial visit to OU today, so how did you like it?

CB: "I liked it a lot. The facilities were great and they were really big. I thought the weight room was big and the indoor facility was big. It was great. I really liked the academic center and the stadium was really big. I thought the coaches offices were cool and I thought the campus was pretty."

JH: Last week you said that if everything went as you thought it would during your visit to OU, that you would probably commit. What are you thinking at this point?

CB: "I am going to commit to OU, but I am just waiting to talk to my mom about it. I can't talk to her until tomorrow morning, but when I do I am going to tell her that I want to commit. I don't think she is going to have any problem with my decision, or at least I hope so. I may not get to talk to her until tomorrow night because I have to go to work during the day."

JH: You had a chance to talk to Sooner offensive line coach Kevin Wilson most of the day. Can you give us an idea how that conversation went?

CB: "Coach Wilson told me that I would have a chance to come in and start as a freshman because they lose so many guys off of next year's team. He said if I would really work hard and come to Norman in great shape that I would have a chance to be a starter, and I really like that."

JH: Did you get a chance to watch any film of the OU offense?

CB: "I watched the highlight film and I really liked it. OU is a great team and on a film like that, their great plays are showing up everywhere."

JH: How long did you stay in Norman?

CB: "I spent about six hours there. It was the first time I have ever been to Norman and I really liked it."
