RECRUITING: Scott wouldn't mind following Peterson

Joensboro, La. RB Charles Scott talks about attending OU's summer camp and Adrian Peterson.

Charles Scott, RB, 6-0, 225, 4.5, JONESBORO (HODGE HS), LOUISIANA:

JH: What did you think of your camp experience at OU?

CS: "I enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. I had a chance to meet some of the OU players and check them out. Mostly, I had a chance to meet some the freshman players because they would come out to camp."

JH: What did you think about the players at OU?

CS: "They were all good people, and they were all getting along."

JH: The last time we talked you mentioned that you wanted to meet Adrian Peterson. Did you get a chance to meet AD?

CS: "I had a chance to meet Adrian, but I really didn't get chance to talk to him. I know that he just had surgery on his shoulder and he was smaller than I thought he would be. Coach (Cale) Gundy told me that he had missed a lot of weightlifting because of his shoulder surgery, but I understand he is going to be getting into the weight room now."

JH: How did you feel you played at the camp?

CS: "I feel like I did alright. I probably could have done a little bit better, but I feel I did pretty well. I like the way we got to compete against each other. We went one-on-one in our drills and stuff, and in Sooner ball we all had our teams. I just liked the competition."

JH: Since it was your first time at OU what were your impressions of the campus and of the football program?

CS: "I learned a lot about OU.I had never been to OU before I went to camp, so I saw what it was like. I liked everything about it. I couldn't find anything that I can say was wrong with it. I was so impressed with how the players acted. They were all cool people and all of them were good people. They would get their work done, but they would still hang out and play around, and you could tell they really cared for each other."

JH: Now that you have been to OU how do they fit into your recruiting picture?

CS: "They are definitely in my top three. It is OU, LSU and USC in my top three. I really don't have a favorite among the three. It is going to be a tough decision for me. Playing time or the school where I can play the fastest may be the deciding factor."

JH: How does OU fit into your playing time scenario?

CS: "OU has Adrian Peterson, but after this year they have two running backs leaving. The way I look at it is that I could come in and get 20 to 25 snaps a game as his back-up his junior year, and then he is probably going to turn pro. I would then be in line to step in and be the starter after that. That would be a good opportunity for me.

"I would have more competition at LSU and USC because they are going to have more running backs on campus than OU. It is not that I am worried about competition because there is going to be competition everywhere, but there fact of the matter is that OU has less running backs on their roster than the other two."

JH: Are you going to any other camps?

CS: "I am going to LSU on the 24th and I am going to Alabama's one-day camp on Saturday. "
