Stevenson: "I think I am unstoppable"

Oklahoma women's basketball commit Nyeshia Stevenson talks about her game and verbal the Sooners.

JH: Talk about your recent commitment to Oklahoma?

NS: "I really like the program and all the coaches. I especially like Coach (Sherri) Coale. I like all the players and they seem like they are going to be a great bunch of people to play with."

JH: When did you commit to OU?

NS: "I told Oklahoma that I was committing to them the last day of camp on June 9. I was at their Elite Camp and I had a real good camp."

JH: Tell us about your game?

NS: "I think I am unstoppable. I can take people off the dribble and I can shoot the three. My mom just told me to tell you that I can shoot the short jumper too. I am a wing guard, but I can bring the ball up. I can also post up, but I play mostly outside. If I have a little guard on me then I will take her down low on the block."

JH: What did you average in high school and what are you averaging in AAU ball?

NS: "I averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds and four assists last year. On my summer team, I average 20 points and eight rebounds. We have good big girls on our summer team and they grab most of the rebounds."

JH: How do you feel you will fit in with OU?

NS: "I think I will fit in real well because they are an up-tempo team and very fast. I have good speed and like to play in an up-tempo game. I run the 100 and 200 meters in track and I have good enough speed to be very competitive in those events."

JH: Have you had a chance to meet Leah Rush or the Paris twins yet?

NS: "I am going to OU a week from today on my official visit so I can meet and hang out with the players and meet the Paris twins."

JH: I understand you had a great state track meet?

NS: "My fastest time in the 100 meters is 12.3. I won the 100 and 200 meters and set the record in the high jump at 5'8. I also won the long jump and triple jump. I won all those events in about a hours time, so I got real tired during that meet."
