RECRUITING: Sooners in the hunt for Bowman?

Forestville, Md. linebacker Novorro Bowman update.

Navorro Bowman, who combines size and speed into his game, is one of the top linebackers in the country, as well as a top 100 player nationally according to

Bowman lettered as a freshman as an outside backer before moving inside as a sophomore where he stayed last season.

"I think most schools are recruiting me to play inside linebacker, "said Bowman. "I might also play running back in college. Last year I rushed for 1,230 and 22 touchdowns. All I would need to do is get a little bit faster. I like defense better because I like giving it instead of receiving it. I am pretty sure in college I will play on the defensive side of the ball."

Bowman finished with an amazing 165 tackles last season, nine sacks and three forced fumbles. Bowman can bench 280 pounds, squats 350 and has posted a 28-inch vertical jump. He also starts in hoops averaging 16 ppg.

Bowman attended the Maryland summer camp before his junior year and was so good that he was offered a scholarship during that camp. He recently attended the Elite Camp in New Jersey and a camp at Penn State.

Bowman has been offered by 29 schools at this point, and he is trying to find out more information on a number of different schools.

"I like North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Ohio State, Tennessee and Maryland. I am also looking at Oklahoma. They are one of the schools I am considering. The schools that I am taking a close look at right now are North Carolina, Penn State and Maryland because I have visited those schools and I know more about them. At a school like Oklahoma, I need to take an official visit there to see what they are all about. I am not sure where I will take my five visits. I have so many schools that I have to learn something about."

Bowman has qualified.
