RECRUITING: Maryland DB visiting Norman soon?

Pomfret, Md. cornerback A.J. Wallace talks about his summer trips, future plans and interest in Oklahoma.

A.J. Wallace CB, 6-1, 195, 4.40, PROMFRET (MCDONOUGH HS), MARYLAND:

JH: What have you been up to this summer?

AJ: "I went to Michigan's camp and to Ohio State on an unofficial visit. Now I am just working out, and our team camp is July 21st in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. I hope to get down to Florida and Oklahoma before our camp starts in mid August. That will be up to my parents, but we have talked about it."

JH: What did you think of Michigan and Ohio State?

AJ: "I liked both places a lot. I got a chance to look at both schools and both were very nice. I would say both visits went well."

JH: Is there anything specific that you are working on this summer in your workouts?

AJ: "I am mostly trying to improve my footwork, but mostly I am just lifting weights."

JH: How is recruiting going for you at this time?

AJ: "Recruiting is going pretty well for me. I will have my list narrowed down towards the middle of July. I am still considering Ohio State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Miami, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Michigan and Virginia Tech. There are other schools, but I am going to try to get my list down to 10 sometimes in July."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

AJ: "Oklahoma is a good school and they have been recruiting me pretty hard. I might end up taking a visit down there his summer. I like them a lot, but I haven't had a chance to get down there yet. There is a good chance that I will take an official visit to Oklahoma."

JH: What is important to you in recruiting? Is it depth chart, style of defense, academics?

AJ: "I just want to go to a school where I can play early and make an impact, so depth chart is a big thing. I want to go to a school where I have a chance to get on the field early. Oklahoma told me that I had a good chance to start as a freshman, but I know that is not going to be easy. They told me that I would have a good chance to play early."
