RECRUITING: Sooners in Missouri WR's top four

Kirkwood, Mo. wide receiver Jeremy Maclin update.

Jeremy Maclin, WR, 6-0, 175, 4.5, ST. LOUIS (KIRKWOOD SR. HS), MISSOURI:

JH: How is your summer going?

JM: "I am just working out with my team. I went to the Illinois camp and Iowa camp earlier this summer."

JH: How did things go at the camp?

JM: "I thought both camps were pretty good. I learned a lot more about playing receiver and how to read defenses."

JH: Did you go to any junior days or take any unofficial visits?

JM: "I went to Illinois on junior day. I took unofficial visits to Illinois and Missouri."

JH: How many scholarship offers have you received?

JM: "I would say 12 to 13."

JH: How is recruiting going?

JM: "I have a couple of schools that stand out, but I am still pretty wide open right now."

JH: What schools stand out with you?

JM: "Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Illinois and Missouri stand out a little right now, but I am still pretty wide open."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

JM: "I like their style of offense and offense they run. I think I could fit really well in the offensive scheme. I also like the coaches up there. I like Coach (Darrell) Wyatt and Coach (Chris) Wilson. They are great guys to deal with. Oklahoma needs receivers and that is one of the key things that I am looking for. I know who they are losing and I think there would be some opportunities to play early there. I know it wouldn't be easy, but I think there would be some possibilities."

JH: Is distance any concern to you?

JM: "Distance doesn't matter. I will go to school wherever. Location doesn't really play a role."

JH: Are you and your team throwing the ball much this summer?

JM: "We go to Carbondale this weekend for a seven-on-seven tournament. There will be a lot of great teams and a lot of great players there. I am looking forward to playing in that tournament and testing my skills."
