RECRUITING: Will Minnesota OL visit Norman?

Saint Paul, Minn offensive lineman Matt Carufel update.

JH: How is your summer going?

MC: "I am not doing much traveling around. I am just working out and getting ready for the season. I am doing both lifting and conditioning with lots of running. I am just trying to enjoy myself and hang out with my friends."

JH: How is your lifting going?

MC: "It is going as good as always. I don't like doing it, but I like what it does for me. I wouldn't say there is much fun to it, but it definitely does a job for you."

JH: Have you taken any unofficial visits this summer?

MC: "No, I haven't gone to anything but to junior days to Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida and Miami. I don't plan to take any more visits until I take my official visits."

JH: What the latest in recruiting for you?

MC: "I have plans to take official visits to Minnesota, Iowa and Notre Dame. I am trying to work it out to visit Notre Dame and USC, and I am working to see Iowa and Minnesota or Iowa and Michigan. I don't know if I can work that out because we have games on all those weekends and that may make it tough get out there in time for the game. I will have to check with my coach and see if I can miss Saturday practice."

JH: Have you narrowed your recruiting down to those three schools?

MC: "I have not named my official top five, but I do plan on taking five visits."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

MC: "Obviously, they are a great football team, but I feel I don't know too much about their school or anything like that. I am considering them along with a lot of schools for the final two visits. I am not really worried about recruiting. I have a lot of things to worry about with my own football team right now, and I am more focused on that."
