Chaz Washington, DT, 6-3, 288, 5.2, DESTREHAN, LOUSIANA:
JH: I know practice is getting ready to get underway for you, so how has your summer gone and have you accomplished everything you hoped to?
CW: "I did exactly where I wanted to get done. I got my 40 time down and I am in better shape going into the season. Now, I can play every down at 100 percent and play every play for four quarters. I have developed into a good leader. I am the first guy in the weight room, and on the track and I am the last to leave. I want to be a good leader for our team and I want to make sure that carries over when the season starts."
JH: What do you weigh and what are you running now? Also, what is your bench at this time?
CW: "I weigh 295 and I think I can run a 4.9 forty. I am benching close to 355 right now."
JH: Did you go to any camps this summer or take any unofficial visits?
CW: "No, I haven't gone to any camp or on any unofficial visits. I just concentrated on working out with my team and dedicating myself to this season. I wanted to make it out, but my dad had to work a lot and we just couldn't make it out this summer."
JH: How is recruiting going for you at this time?
CW: "Things are sizing up pretty well. Oklahoma is still my No. 1 right now. I am trying to get things focused for my season, so I am trying to get my official visits set up. I have called Oklahoma first and I am working on setting up an official visit with them. I have called Nebraska. I will probably call Miami, UCLA and either Tennessee or Auburn. I want to get these set up because once our season starts I want to concentrate on that. I owe it to my teammates to concentrate on our season, and then once that is over I can concentrate on me."
JH: What about LSU?
CW: "I love LSU, but they are not showing me much love so they are not in the mix. I am not even considering them."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?
CW: "They are No. 1 right now. I have been researching a lot about them on the internet and I think I can have an impact at Oklahoma as a freshman. I think I have the ability to go to Oklahoma and start as a true freshman, or at least play a lot. I talk to Coach Chris Wilson all the time and he is a good guy. He is always talking to me about anything that I want to talk about. If I needed somebody to talk to about anything, he always takes my call. He is always telling me that I can be a great player at Oklahoma and he is always giving me encouragement."
