RECRUITING: Virginia running back visits Norman

Evan Royster talks about his trip to Norman and if he'll come back for an official visit this fall.

Evan Royster, RB, 6-0, 190, 4.4, CHANTILLY (WESTFIELD HS), VIRGINIA:

JH: When you visited OU and Nebraska this past week and weekend, did you get to watch both teams practice?

ER: "My plane was delayed so I didn't get to get out to watch OU practice. I was able to watch Nebraska practice."

JH: What did you think of your time at OU?

ER: "I thought it was cool, the campus was cool. I really enjoyed talking to all the coaches. They seem like great guys. Visiting OU was a great experience for me."

JH: Did you get a chance to meet any of the players?

ER: "I met a few players, but it was on fan appreciation day and they were pretty busy. I got to meet a bunch of them as they were getting their pictures taken. It was mostly the younger players on the team. I did get a chance to meet Adrian Peterson. He about crushed my hand with a pretty firm handshake."

JH: Did you learn anything about OU that you didn't know going into the visit?

ER: "I didn't go into OU expecting anything really. I know that Norman would be a college town and I knew the football team would be first-rate. I guess maybe I was surprised that the athletic dorms were so good and the weight room was really special."

JH: What did you think of your visit to Nebraska?

"I was real surprised because I didn't know Lincoln was such a big city. Nebraska has a nice campus and they are doing some nice things to the stadium. It seems like they are re-doing everything."

JH: What are your thoughts on recruiting at this point?

ER: "I really don't know. I am still wanting to get around a see other schools right now. I am not narrowing my choices down and am still keeping all my choices open. I am still considering Oklahoma, Nebraska, Tennessee, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Penn State, Washington and many others."

JH: Have you set many visits at this time?

ER: "No, but I am planning on getting back to Norman for September 2nd. And then I hope to go to Nebraska for one of their early games. I am also thinking about Alabama, and then maybe a Florida school and a school on the West Coast."

JH: When do you start practice?

ER: "We are starting two-a-days on Wednesday. My workouts have been going well and I am looking forward to the season. We have some young players on our team, but they are real talented. I think we are going to be good this year."
