RECRUITING: Sooners get first shot at Texas Giant

Curtis Bailey, a 6-foot-6 355-pound offensive lineman from Dallas Carter, talks about his scheduled visits and what he's looking for in his trip to Norman this weekend.

Curtis Bailey, OL, 6-6, 355, 5.8, DALLAS (CARTER HS), TEXAS:

JH: How is your season going?

CB: "We opened our season by beating Sam Houston 28-25. We play Dallas Kimball this weekend."

JH: How did you play in the first game?

CB: "I didn't play because I had a sprained ankle. I sprung my ankle in a scrimmage. It feels much better now."

JH: I hear Dallas Carter is going to be pretty good this year. Is that right?

CB: "I think we can be pretty good this year. Some feel our defense was slacking off a little bit, but if our defense plays like it can we can be a very good team."

JH: Have you set up any visits at this point?

CB: "I am taking my first visit to Oklahoma this Friday night. That is the only visit that I have set up at this point. I am also looking at Miami, Notre Dame and Nebraska to take visits to. I haven't really found a fifth school that I want to visit."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

CB: "I like them. I think they are a pretty good team. They are a program that will put you into the next level. If you have the talent they will make you a better player. This will be the first time that I have visited Oklahoma and I am looking forward to it."

JH: What are you looking for in a football program?

CB: "I am looking for a program that can get me to the next level. I want to see what kind of environment that each school has, because I want to feel comfortable the next four years. I am going to take a close look at the family atmosphere at each school. I am interested in the pre-law program and what kind of academic situation each school has."
