RECRUITING: Dallas linebacker favors five

Dallas, Texas LB Michael Morgan names his final five, interest in Oklahoma and what he's looking for in a school.

Mike Morgan, LB, 6-3, 185, DALLAS (SKYLINE HS), TEXAS:

JH: Did you visit any other schools after you went to Oklahoma's camp in June?

MM: "I went to Texas A&M for an unofficial visit. I also went to Texas."

JH: How did your workouts go this summer?

MM: "My workouts went real well. I got stronger and faster. I didn't test myself, but I know that I am a better athlete."

JH: Is your high school season underway yet?

MM: "We played our first game August 25 and we won 21-16 against North Mesquite. I did pretty well, but I didn't have that many tackles. They were running away from my side and they never really challenged me the entire game."

JH: Who do you play this weekend?

MM: "We play Grand Prairie this weekend."

JH: What position are you playing on defense?

MM: "I play the SAM backer in a 4-3 defense."

JH: How is recruiting going for you at this time?

MM: "I think I have narrowed it down. The schools that start calling September 1st that I am not interested in, I am going to tell them to quit calling."

JH: Do you have a favorite or a top three to five?

MM: "I would say Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Michigan, USC and Florida State are my favorite schools. I wouldn't say that I have a favorite out of that, but those are my favorite schools right now."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?

MM: "Oklahoma is a championship program that sends a lot of players to the league. They have good coaching and they are just a great overall program. Oklahoma's defense is real good, and that is one of the main things I like. There are great defensive players that come out of Oklahoma."

JH: What are the key things that you are looking for in recruiting?

MM: "I want to sign with a good program that has a good family environment, and one that has a good academic program."
