Women's Basketball Recruiting Update

The OU Women's Basketball team is very busy right now in recruiting. The Sooners hosted 6-3 center Katrina Limbaha of Lake Court Chrisitan Acadamy in Ft. Worth Texas on an unofficial visit Wednesday. She is a top 10 player in Texas and the Sooners are battling Texas A&M and Texas Tech for her services.

OU will host 6-1 forward Amanda Thompson out of Chicago, Ill. tomorrow. Thompson is one of the top big girls in the country. The Sooners are battling Minnesota, Michigan State and LSU for her services.

Next month the Sooners have scheduled for a visit Abi Olajuwon (6-3) of Sherman Oaks, Calif. She is the daugher of former NBA great Akeem Alajuwon and is best friends with the Paris twins, who are freshmen at OU this year.

Also visiting the Sooners next month are the Neighbor twins — Rea and Patty from Fullerton, Calif. who are 6-0 and 6-1 wings. They are considered top 30 players in the country.

The Sooners are off to a great start for their 2006 recruiting class. OU has seven scholarships to use if they so choose and already OU has commitments from guard Rosie Hammond (5-9) of DePew, Okla.. Hammond is considered by many the top player in Oklahoma for next year.

The Sooners also have a verbal from point guard Jenna Plumley of Red Rock, Okla. Plumley led Red Rock to their first state championship this past season.

The third early commitment is Nyeshia Stevenson (6-0) of Little Rock, Ark., who is regarded as the top player in Arkansas. Stevenson is an incredibly athletic player who won five different events in the state track meet last year.
