Ian Symonette, OL, 6-9, 330, 5.4, HOUSTON (ST. PIUS X HS), TEXAS:
JH: How is your season going thus far?
IS: "We have played three games. We are 2-1 so far on the season."
JH: How about you individually, how did you play?
IS: "I have done great. I am averaging seven pancakes per game. I am moving a lot quicker and things are coming more natural to me right now."
JH: You have improved so much from last year to this year, what is the difference?
IS: "It is just becoming easier for me, because I am playing the game more. I have gone through all the preseason workouts, all the practices and I have just played the game more. Remember, I haven't been playing football all my life like some of the guys I go up against. But the more I play the easier the game comes for me."
JH: What position are you playing?
IS: "I am playing right tackle."
JH: Because of your size, you are definitely a tackle on the next level aren't you?
IS: "I think I can play all the positions, but I think I fit better at tackle. I think tackle is my natural position and that is where I think I will play at the next level. I just think I have more flexibility at tackle."
JH: How many coaches are you hearing from a night?
IS: "I am hearing from four to five a night."
JH: How is recruiting going for you?
IS: "Recruiting is going well for me right now. I am enjoying it and I am just taking it step by step. This is a decision that is going to effect me for a lifetime. I want to enjoy the process and make the right decision for me."
JH: Do you still have favorites?
IS: "My top four are Miami, LSU, Texas and OU."
JH: What are your thoughts on the Sooners at this time?
IS: "They had a little mis-hap at the beginning of the season, but they held together as a team. I feel they have a very good coaching staff and they have a good program."
JH: You have been on Oklahoma and the same four schools for a while, so why Oklahoma and these four?
IS: "OU has a great program and they are one of the best programs in the country. Those four schools that I continue to mention all have great programs and are among the top football programs in the country. They grabbed my attention early and I have always liked them."
JH: Do you have a favorite among your top four?
IS: "No, I don't. But I realize some people try to say that I do. Right now I have a top four and I could go to school at any of the four."
