Recruiting: Henry says verbal is solid

OU commitment James Henry talks about his high school teams' 4-0 start, his verbal to the Sooners and the chances he might play on the offesnive side of the ball at Oklahoma.

James Henry, RB/S, 6-2, 185, SCHERTZ (SAMUEL CLEMENS HS), TEXAS:

OUIn: How is your season going?

JH: "We are 4-0 right now. We are ranked second in the city (San Antonio) and 13th in the state."

OUIn: Are you still going both ways?

JH: "I am playing running back, and a little cornerback in special situations and in goal line situations. In my last game I had 218 yards and that brought my total to 598 yards and 10 touchdowns thus far."

OUIn: Are you sure you are not going to be a running back in college?

JH: "I just got off the phone with Coach Wright and he said they are going to move me over to the offensive side of the ball. It really doesn't matter to me where I play as long as I can go in there and help the team."

OUIn: Is running back really where you want to play?

JH: "I grew up playing running back, so I like playing there. My sophomore year I played free safety, and that is where Oklahoma saw me at defensive back. I feel more comfortable at running back, but again it really doesn't matter it me.

"I may wind up on defense at OU, but Coach Wright just told me that I am going to start out at running back. If I have to play offensive guard then I will be an offensive guard if it will get me on the field for the Sooners."

OUIn: How would you describe your running style?

JH: "I hear that people like to compare me to Adrian Peterson because of my sized and speed. I think we are totally different, because he is so powerful. He is the best running back I have ever seen. He is so good. I am not that strong, but I can put a move on you in open field and I have good speed. I am pretty strongl, but not Adrian Peterson strong. I don't know of anybody who is."

OUIn: Are you still a solid commitment to OU?

JH: "Yes, I am. People are trying to say that Texas A&M is getting in the picture. What happened is that I had a game at Austin and after the game a number of newspaper people started asking me if other teams were still calling me. I told them that Texas A&M was still calling me and then they took that and ran with it. I am not interested in any other school. Those people asked me what I thought about OU losing, and I told them that won't last long and that they have a young team that is already getting better."

OUIn: Is Oklahoma going to be the only school that you visit?

JH: "Yes, Oklahoma will be my only visit."
