Recruiting: OU still in the hunt for Minnesota TE

Minnesota tight end Jordon McMichael talks about his final three and interest in Oklahoma.

Jordon McMichael, TE, 6-5, 230, 4.7, MINNEAPOLIS (BRECK HS), MINNESOTA:

JH: How is your season going?

JM: "Right now we are 2-1."

JH: How are you playing individually?

JM: "The first game of the season I was kind of slow. I got triple-covered a lot. My production has picked up since then. The last game I played they tried to bump me at the line of scrimmage with a linebacker and a safety over top, but that didn't work out so well for them. I caught seven catches for 130 yards and one touchdown. For the season I have 16 catches for 200 yards and two touchdowns."

JH: Do you also play on defense?

JM: "I play defensive end. I never come off the field expect on kick returns. Right now I have 20 tackles. I only have one sack, but I have five knock downs."

JH: How did you like your recent visit to Boston College?

JM: "I had a pretty good time actually. They had a tough game with Florida State, but I enjoyed my visit and I felt good about the fact that I have people that I know there. Right now Brandon Robinson is playing for them and he is a former teammate. I know a couple of other people that go there and I have some family that live up there as well. Then I have friends that go to Harvard and Yale, and they are not to far away from Boston College."

JH: Now that you have visited both Oklahoma and Boston College what are your thoughts on recruiting?

JM: "I promised myself that I wouldn't sit down and do any of my check-minus stuff until I get my three visits out of the way. So, I go to Nebraska on October first and after that visit I will sit down and try to figure this stuff out."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

JM: "Oklahoma is definitely still in it. I enjoyed my visit to Oklahoma and I like the people down there. They have great people on the team and on the coaching staff. Oklahoma is still there on my list."
