Former Sooner defensive tackle Ryan Fisher knows a little about Oklahoma-Texas football. Fisher, who was a member of the Sooners' 2000 National Championship team and a key contributor in OU's 63-14 win over the Longhorns that season, talks about the rivalry and Saturday's matchup.
TH: Give me your analysis and breakdown of how this Oklahoma offense can out-play the Texas Defense?
FISHER: OU has to dominate the line of scrimmage, man up on their tacklers and keep their ends off (Rhett) Bomar. OU's offense has to win the time of possession game, give the defense some rest, throw some trick plays in.
TH: How can OU's defense stop the high-octane rushing attack of the Longhorns?
FISHER: Put all the pressure on Vince Young and make him win the game. Make plays in the backfield.
TH: What are the keys to OU winning this game?
FISHER: Get in the head of Texas early and make them think of the past five OU victories.
TH: What players have to make a major impact in this game?
FISHER: (Dusty) Dvoracek, (Joe Jon) Finley and Bomar...No coincidence all of these guys are from....Texas.
TH: What is an OU vs. Texas game without a little trash talking? What do you really think about Texas?
FISHER: Overrated prima donnas. When Texas goes to the Cotton Bowl they play as soft as cotton. When Mack Brown loses that game the Texas fans will show him where Hoffa's buried at.
