Recruiting: Texas DT lists five

Mansfield, Texas defensive lineman Adrian Taylor update.

Adrian Taylor, DL, 6-4, 260, 5.1, MANSFIELD, TEXAS:

JH: We haven't talked in a while, so catch us up on your season?

AT: "Our record is 4-3 overall and we are 3-1 in district. I am happy with this year because we have never won more than four games, and we have already won four games. If we win of our last three games we go to the playoffs.

"Personally, I am feeling good about this season because we have a lot of young guys and they are stepping up. I know my stats are down because teams are double-teaming me and running away from me, but I am still playing pretty well and it is helping our defense."

JH: You mentioned stats, so what are they through seven games?

AT: "I just don't look at my stats during the season, but I am sure they are still pretty good."

JH: Do you like dealing with recruiting?

AT: "The coaches can only call me once a week, but it still seems like I am getting a lot of calls. It is still overwhelming at times, because I still have a lot of coaches calling me."

JH: Have you narrowed your choices down at all?

AT: "I am still considering everybody at this point. I don't want to say who my top five is until after the season. I have never talked about having a favorite or anything and I want to keep it that way until after the season."

JH: Who are some of the schools you are considering?

AT: "I am still looking at schools like Oklahoma, UCLA, Kansas, Colorado and Arizona."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?

AT: "I have been up there and I met the coaches. They were real cool. Oklahoma is the only school that I have met in person. I really enjoyed it and I think Oklahoma is a real good program. I talked to Coach (Jackie) Shipp and Coach (Chris) Wilson just before you called. I really enjoy talking to those two guys."

JH: Have you set any visits yet?

AT: "I don't know where I am going to visit, and I won't know until after my season is over. I never thought I was going to go to college so I don't have a favorite school. I am just trying to find out as much about each school as I can so that I can make some decisions where I want to visit."
