A.J. Wallace, CB, 6-0, 190, 4.4, PROMFRET (McDONOUGH HS), MARYLAND:
JH: Catch us up how is your season going?
AJ: "Our season is going well. We are 5-2 right now and tied for second in our region. The last two games I had real good games. Last Friday I had 20 carries for 357 yards and six touchdowns. Then the week before, I had 21 carries for 268 yards and three touchdowns. In that game, the first two times I touched the ball I scored. On the season I have 1,062 yards and 15 touchdowns."
JH: Are you also playing on defense? And do you return kicks?
AJ: "On defense I have 64 tackles and two interceptions. I am playing left corner and I also return punts. They always kick them out of bounds so I don't have a chance to return any."
JH: Since you are having such a great year rushing the football are some schools looking at you as a running back instead of as a cornerback?
AJ: "I am not sure. A couple of the schools that are recruiting me asked me if I wanted to play on offense instead. I told them that I wouldn't have any problem giving it a shot if that is what they wanted me to do. At the beginning of the year, so many college coaches told me that they were recruiting me as a corner that I just started to buy into it. I will play on either side of the ball or anywhere they want to play me."
JH: Have you taken any visits so far?
AJ: "I went to Florida State and Ohio State."
JH: How did those visits go?
AJ: "They were pretty good visits. There were pretty good people in both plays and good coaches in both places. I really like both places. They were pretty balanced. I don't really like one over the other."
JH: What other visits have you set up?
AJ: "I am going to Nebraska this weekend to watch them play Oklahoma. That is the only one that I have set up at this time."
JH: What other schools are you considering?
AJ: "I am still considering Miami, Oklahoma, Florida and LSU."
JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?
AJ: "I haven't had a chance to talk to Coach (Bobby Jack) Wright yet. He called and had to leave a message because I was studying for a test. I need to talk to him about setting up a visit. I am pretty sure Oklahoma is a school where I want to visit. They have a great team and a great program, and I know they need cornerbacks in the program."
JH: So you're visiting Nebraska this weekend and they are playing Oklahoma, both of which you're looking seriously at?
AJ: "Yeah, it is going to be a little funny, because I am interested in both schools. I really didn't think about it until I had already set the visit. It will be a very interesting game for me to watch."
JH: Are any teams throwing your way when your play cornerback?
AJ: "No, not really. There has been only one team that tried to challenge me and I intercepted two passes. There has been only one game where the ball has actually been thrown on my side."
