Roark: "It is just a dream come true"

Less than a week after being offered by Oklahoma, Ada OL Chad Roark says he's switching his commitment from Florida State to the Sooners. See inside for Roark's comments on his commitment to Oklahoma.

Chad Roark, OL, 6-2, 285, 5.2, ADA, OKLAHOMA:

JH: I understand you have some good news for Sooner fans?

CR: "I have just got off the phone with Coach (Kevin) Wilson and Coach (Bob) Stoops and I committed to Oklahoma."

JH: How did this all come about so quickly after OU offered you?

CR: "I had a clue they were going to offer me last Tuesday or Wednesday, and when they did I almost told myself that if they ever came with an offer that I would go there. When they offered me I called the Florida State coaches and let them know that it was nothing against them, but OU was a dream come true for me."

JH: How are you feeling at this moment?

CR: "I am really pumped. It is just an exciting time for me. It is just a dream come true."

JH: Ada is an OU town, so has word gotten out that you are now a Sooner?

CR: "Everybody is just excited for me. They are saying Boomer Sooner every time they see me. I don't know how everybody found out that I decommitted from Florida State, but they all did somehow. It has been a lot of fun today.

JH: You graduate at semester and OU needs linemen badly for the spring. So do you realize in just two months you will be playing college football?

CR: "I know it. I am excited to get in there and go to work. I am ready to wear that Crimson and Cream."

JH: What position do you feel you will play at OU?

CR: "Center is my natural position. I love playing center. I will play either center or guard in college."

JH: How are things shaping up for Ada in the playoffs?

CR: "If Douglass gets beat by Star Spencer and we win out, we will win our district. We will win out. We had a few problems at the beginning of the year, but things are beginning to come together at the right time. We are going to be tough in the playoffs."

Note: Chad will be named to the Scout Network Army All-American game in a ceremony on Wednesday, November 2. Congratulations to Chad for being named an Army All-American.
