Recruiting: Top Texas LB setting visits

Dallas, Texas linebacker Mike Morgan talks about his upcoming visits and interest in Oklahoma.

Mike Morgan, LB, 6-3, 185, 4.6, DALLAS (SKYLINE HS), TEXAS:

JH: How is your season going thus far for your team and for you individually?

MM: "We are having a pretty good season right now. We are 7-2. Many people thought we would be undefeated right now, but we had a couple of rocky moments that we had to work through. I am having a pretty good season, but I think it would be better if I was reading my keys more. I am playing pretty well, but I can play better."

JH: Last year you were a defensive end and now you are a linebacker. Do you feel comfortable at linebacker now?

MM: "It is not a transition for me any more. I feel comfortable at the position right now. I play both middle and SAM backer."

JH: Have you already qualified for the playoffs?

MM: "We have made it to the playoffs already. We have a bye this week, then we play Carter and then start the playoffs. Our game with Carter is always a pretty big game and fun to play in."

JH: Have you set up any of your visits yet?

MM: "I have set up a visit with USC on Friday. I also have set up a visit to Oklahoma on the 10th of December. I am also looking at Florida State and Michigan."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at his point?

MM: "They are having a down year because they are playing a lot of young players. They are good enough that they will still be playing for a championship soon. I am really interested in Oklahoma and they are one of the schools that I have had an interest in for some time. With a coach like Bob Stoops, you can't help but like Oklahoma."

JH: Do you have a favorite?

MM: "No, I don't have a favorite."
