Recruiting: OU interested in Galveston DE

Galveston, Texas defensvie end Rajon Henley update.

Rajon Henley, DL, 6'3, 260, 4.8, GALVESTON (BALL HS), TEXAS:

Rajon Henley
is your typical athlete coming out of Galveston Ball in that he can run, play multiple positions and is great chasing the football.

"I like defensive end a little more than defensive tackle," said Henley. "At end, I have more opportunity to stop the run to the outside and I don't get stuck in all that traffic inside. Inside, I can be a force coming up the middle and I always get great starts up the middle off the snap."

Henley is a two-year starter, but he started a few games his sophomore year at defensive tackle. He finished last season with around 100 tackles and this season is on pace for the same number of tackles on a 7-2 team that is 4-1 in district. Ball has qualified for the playoffs.

Henley can bench 350 pounds, squats 520 and posted a 32.5 vertical jump his sophomore year. Henley starts in hoops and in track he throws the shot and the discus.

Henley has been offered by Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, TCU, Utah, LSU, Iowa State and he recently heard from Oklahoma.

"I just recently got a call from Oklahoma and it was good to hear from them," said Henley. "Coach (Kevin) Sumlin called and said that he was going to send me all the information about OU and that he was going to call me next week. He talked to me about what I planned to do and if I was interested in taking a visit up there.

"I told him that I certainly had an interest in Oklahoma and that I would love to visit. I really don't have a favorite. I am still looking at some schools and weighing my options and trying to see which school is best for me."
