Recruiting: Coveted Kansas Juco OL sets visit

Junior college offensive lineman Brandon Walker talks about his upcoming trip to Norman.

Brandon Walker, OL, 6-3, 320, COFFEYVILLE CC, KANSAS:

JH: How is your season going?

BW: "We are just waiting on a bowl bid. We won our conference championship this weekend winning Region 6 over Dodge City 33-12. We had 442 yards rushing."

JH: With that kind of rushing yardage you must have had a great game up front?

BW: "I did a pretty good job in that game. Our all-conference awards came out this week and I was named Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year. I am very happy to get this award. It is pretty cool to be named the best offensive lineman in the conference."

JH: Have you set up your visits?

BW: "I am visiting Oklahoma this weekend, then I have set up four more. I go to Illinois the following weekend, then I go to East Carolina (12-2) and then Michigan State and Oklahoma State in January."

JH: Do you have a favorite?

BW: "I don't have any favorites right now. Those are just the five schools that I chose to visit, but I don't have any visits. I just want the recruiting process to take shape and we will see what happens."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

BW: Oklahoma is a good school. I am going to wait to take my visit to see what they have to offer. I know they say they need offensive linemen, but I want to see that for myself. I know I want to go somewhere where I have a chance to play right away."

JH: Are you being recruited as a guard?

BW: "Most teams are looking at me as a guard."
