Recruiting: California RB visiting Norman?

Sylmar, Calif. running back C.J. Gable talks about his interest in Oklahoma.

C.J. Gable, CB/ATH, 6-1, 190, 4.5, SYLMAR, CALIFORNIA:

JH: How is your season going?

CJ: "We are still playing and we 10-0. We are ninth in the large class in California. We go into the first round of the playoffs tomorrow against Lot High School."

JH: Are you still playing on both sides of the ball?

CJ: "I am playing running back and cornerback. I have rushed for 747 yards and 24 touchdowns. On defense, I have four picks and a lot of tackles. I just don't know how many. I am still playing well, but we have a better team this year and I don't have to do as much by myself. Our quarterbacks are stepping up and playing very well."

JH: Do you like playing several positions?

CJ: "No, I still like both positions. I will play wherever the school that I sign with wants me to play. I am being recruited as an athlete. Some schools are telling me that I could play receiver if I wanted to."

JH: Do you really care where you play in college?

CJ: "No, it doesn't matter at all where I play. That will not be a priority in recruiting."

JH: What is going on in recruiting?

CJ: "I have one official visit and that was to Ole Miss. I liked it there, but it was pretty small. I guess that was OK in that everybody knows everybody. It was quiet there."

JH: Who else are you going to visit?

CJ: "I have set visits with Arizona and Cal, but I don't remember the dates. USC and Oregon also want me to take a visit."

JH: Are you still interested in Oklahoma at all?

CJ: "I like Oklahoma still and they are recruiting me as a cornerback. They have asked me to visit. I want to visit Oklahoma, I just need to set up a date. I love the atmosphere at Oklahoma games and the tradition that Oklahoma has. I also like how they run Adrian Peterson. If they wanted to play me at running back I wouldn't mind that."

JH: Do you have a leader?

CJ: "USC is my leader. They have offered me as an athlete. I am going to look at different schools and see which school is best for me."
