Ian Symonette, OL, 6-9, 330, HOUSTON (ST. PIUS X HS), TEXAS:
JH: Is your high school team still playing?
IS: "We lost in the first round of the playoffs 29-21. We finished our season 8-3.
JH: What kind of season do you feel like you had?
IS: "I think I had a great season coming off the injury that I had. I worked very hard and got my body into great shape, and then I got great coaching from my coaches. I had the best season of my career. I had a great off-season and really got back into great shape and just improved my athletic ability. I think that really paid off for me this season."
JH: Are you visiting Oklahoma this weekend?
IS: "Yes sir. That will be my first visit."
JH: Did you ever take an unofficial to Oklahoma?
IS: "This will be the first time that I have ever been to Oklahoma."
JH: What are you expectations of your visit to Oklahoma?
IS: "It is not that I have any expectations, or that I am not going in there with any expectations. I just want to go up there and see how I feel about Oklahoma. I want to see if I feel comfortable and if I feel that Oklahoma can get me to the next level. I want to find out if Oklahoma is the kind of school where I can feel comfortable about spending the next four to five years of my life, and if they has what I am looking for both academics and athletics."
JH: Is the depth chart in the offensive line important at all to you as you try to make your decision?
IS: "Yes, I want to go to a school where there is an opportunity to play early. I don't want to go to a school where they are so deep in the offensive line that as a freshman I would be four guys back at a certain position. I trust my abilities, but I want to be smart about my decision. I want to go to a school where there are some opportunities to play early."
JH: What other visits have you set up?
IS: "I am going to LSU on December 9 and Miami on December 16. I want to take all my visits, but right now those are the three visits that I have set up. Texas A&M is really the only other school I am interested in."
JH: Do you have a leader at this time?
IS: "No, I don't have a leader, but that is what my visits are for. I want to take my visits and then make my decision based off of those visits."
