Recruiting: Another Juco OL high on OU

Coffeyville, Kan. offensive lineman Brandon Walker talks about his visit to Norman.

JH: How did you like your visit to Oklahoma recently?

BW: "I liked my visit to Oklahoma. It was nice, the coaches were cool, everybody was nice. I enjoyed it a lot."

JH: Who was your host and who did you hang around with?

BW: "Branndon Braxton was my host on the visit. Branndon was cool and everybody on the team was cool. Adrian Peterson was nice and the coaches were real cool."

JH: What did you learn about OU that you didn't know before?

BW: "I learned a lot about their gameday atmosphere. It was real cool to ride on the bus with them to the game and see all the fans waving to the bus as we reached the stadium, and then when the players took their little walk to the locker room. That was cool too. I expected OU to have nice facilities and they were all nice."

JH: I am sure you found out a little about the Sooners' offensive line situation. What was your take on it?

BW: "There is no question that they need offensive line and that is good for me. I would have a good chance to go in there and get a spot, which is what I am looking for. I was able to watch a little film with Coach (Kevin) Wilson and he went over some of the schemes that they like to use. From a depth standpoint and the way they block up front, OU is a good set up for me."

JH: Did you also make an official visit to OSU?

BW: "No, it wasn't an official visit. When my teammate Devin Thomas, our wide receiver, went there on his official visit to OSU we drove to Oklahoma together. We are roommates and we just happened to have visits scheduled at OU and OSU on the same weekend, so we just drove down together. I dropped him off at Stillwater and then I went to Norman. When my visit in Norman was over I went back to Stillwater to pick him up and then we drove back to Coffeyville."

JH: Did you take a visit last weekend?

BW: "I was supposed to go to Illinois this past weekend, but I had to cancel it. I am going to reschedule the Illinois visit on December 9. I have Oklahoma State and Michigan State set in January."

JH: How is recruiting shaping up now that you have visited Oklahoma?

BW: "Recruiting is going real well for me. I am enjoying the process. Oklahoma is No. 1 with me right now. If I had to sign today I would sign with Oklahoma. But that isn't the case and I am going to check out my options to see what the best option for me is. But I can say that Oklahoma is very much in the running."
