Paris sisters combine for 44 in win over Iowa

The Paris twins returned to their home state for the first time as Sooners in the first round of Odwalla Classic on Friday night in San Francisco, Calif., and they didn't disappoint.

Courtney Paris scored a career-high 30 points and Ashley Paris added a career-high 14 as the No. 22 Sooners knocked off Iowa 85-68.

Iowa led 16-9 with 12:43 to go in the first half, but the Sooners used a 10-2 run over the next three minutes to take back the lead and eventually hold a 43-29 edge at halftime.

The Sooners' 34-13 run over the last 12:43 of the first half was ignited by Erin Higgins, who hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points in the stretch.

In all, the Paris sisters, combined for 44 points and 21 rebounds. Courtney grabbed 14 while Ashley, who made her first career start, pulled in seven.

Oklahoma will play for the tournament title against tournament host San Francisco at 9 p.m. CST Saturday night. The Dons (1-2) advanced to the championship with an 80-44 win over Rider.

With the win, the Sooners improved to 4-1 on the season.
