Recruiting: Bradford does a little recruiting

OU quarterback commit Sam Bradford talks about his official visit to Norman and what other four-star visitor he talked to about becoming a Sooner.

Sam Bradford, QB, 6-4, 190 PUTNAM CITY (NORTH HS), OKLAHOMA:

JH: What did you think of your visit?

SB: "It was really fun. I got to hang out with some players and Coach (Chuck) Long. It was a really cool."

JH: What players were your hosts?

SB: "Last night, I hung out with Joe Jon Finley and Jacob Gutierrez. We went out to eat and went to their apartment and watched some football. Then we went to another house and chilled for a while"

JH: You have been committed for a while, so what did you look to do on your official visit?

SB: "The biggest thing with the visit was being able to get down there and spend some time with the players. Then to get out and watch a practice and try to learn a little about the offense and try to pick up a few of the formations and stuff."

JH: Did you find that the offense was complicated or did you pick it up right away?

SB: "It is the first practice that I have had a chance to go down on the field and listen to the play calls and things like that. At the beginning, it was complicated when we were down on the field. But today, when we were watching film and Coach Long was explaining some things, I was beginning to pick it up."

JH: Did you turn into a recruiter especially with tight end Jermaine Gresham?

SB: "I said a few things to him. I would love to have him because he is a huge target. I got his number and I hope to be able to give him a few calls."

JH: Growing up in Oklahoma, did you already how Gresham and Roark?

SB: "I know of them. Me and Jermaine have played basketball together. I didn't know Chad, but when I met him he seemed really cool. I know he is a great player."

JH: Did you get to hang out with Rhett Bomar and Paul Thompson much?

SB: "Not really, but I did watch film with Rhett and Coach Long this morning."

JH: Are you playing basketball or what?

SB: "I am playing basketball right now. It is going good as we are 1-1 so far. We lost to Bishop McGuinnis earlier this year. After basketball I am going out for the golf team. I am not a bad player."
