Recruiting: Roark already learning the system

Ada, Okla. OL and OU commit Chad Roark talks about his visit to Norman.

Chad Roark, OL, 6-2, 285, ADA, OKLAHOMA: JH: How did you visit to OU go this weekend? CR: "It was good. I had a blast. I got their Friday and watched practice. We ate up in the Sky Box and watched a little bit of the Tulsa Union/Mustang game, and that was a blast. I got to hang out with Jesse White and he was a great guy." JH: What did you think of practice? CR: "They looked good. It was a bunch of young guys getting a bunch of reps. That is what early bowl practice seems to be all about as they try to let the seniors enjoy it a little bit more. You can definitely see the potential for the next few years." JH: Did you find the offense complicated? CR: "I already learned some of the pass blocking. Coach Wilson was talking to me after every play and he would quiz me, and I don't think I missed any of them. I think learning the run blocking is going to be harder than the pass blocking. JH: After Friday, what else did you do on your visit? CR: "In the morning we got up and ate and then we went on the tour. They showed us the academic facilities and all the facilities. Then we watched another practice. I got to hang out with Jon Cooper, Jesse and Matt Clapp. Also, Malcolm Kelly and DeMarcus Granger were around and they were helpful and trying to be good hosts. They were a lot of fun." JH: In a little over a month you will be a part of that football team, so did you work to get a head start? CR: "Yeah, I am just starting to get some relationships going and some friendships going because I will be up there in a little over a month." JH: I understand you were working on Jermaine Gresham a little bit? CR: "Yeah, I have known Jermaine since the seventh grade and we have played against each other a lot. He is a great guy and great player. I was talking to him about coming here and I think he is thinking about it. He is going to take his visits, but I know that Oklahoma has a chance. I hope to talk to him quite a bit about playing here because he would really help us in the future."
