*Oklahoma, Oregon will meet in Holiday Bowl*

It's official. The Sooners are headed to San Diego to play Pac-10 conference foe Oregon in the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl.

The game, which will be broadcast nationally on ESPN and called by Keith Jackson (play-by-play) and Dan Fouts (analyst), is set for Thursday, Dec. 29 at 7 p.m. (CST) at Qualcomm Satadium in San Diego - the home of the San Diego Chargers.

The Sooners, who will be playing in the Holiday Bowl for the first time and 39th bowl game overall, hold a 5-0 lead in the all-time series against Oregon.

Record: 10-1 (overall), 7-1 (conference)

Ranking: The Ducks are No. 5 in the BCS and USA Today Coaches Polls and No. 6 in the Associated Press Poll. Oklahoma finished No. 23 in the final BCS rankings.

Wins: at Houston (38-24), Montana (47-14), Fresno State (37-34), at Stanford (44-20), at Arizona State (31-17), Washington (45-21), at Arizona (28-21), California (27-20), at Washington State (34-31), Oregon State (56-14).

Losses: USC (45-13).

Statistical Rankings: The Ducks will enter the Holiday bowl ranked 9th nationally in scoring offense (36.36) and 15th in total offense (449.0 ypg). Oregon ranks 69th in rushing offense (138.91 ypg) and 7th in passing offense (310.09 ypg).

Defensively, the Ducks rank 47th in scoring defense (23.73 ppg) and 48th in total defense (357.36 ypg). Oregon's defense ranks 41st against the run (134.09 ypg) and 71st against the pass (223.27 ypg).

Kicker Bruce Redden is 19-for-24 on field goals (long of 51) and 24-for-28 on extra points. The Ducks have used two punters this season — Matt Dragich and Aaron Knowles. Dragich averaged 36.9 yards per punt on 24 attempts, while Knowles averaged 40 yards on 14 punts.
