RECRUITING: OK OL has defensive mentality

Broken Arrown OL Brian Zimple has two offers, but is still waiting for his favorite to offer

Zimple seems to be the perfect offensive line specimen. He has the size, strength and quickness that all colleges are looking for and he plays with a very aggressive demeanor.

"I would like to think that I play offensive line with a defensive line mentality. I play with tremendous aggressiveness, with a lot of emotion and I try to play with great fundamentals."

Zimple played offensive guard a year ago and will play right guard this season. Zimple will add defensive tackle to his resume this season and he could play both ways this year. Zimple can bench 320 pounds, squats 540 and he has a 28-inch vertical jump. Zimple will go to the OU summer camp and one day camp after he attends several Broken Arrow summer camps. He has also been invited by Nebraska to attend their four-day camp.

Zimple has been hearing from a number of schools at this point and he has been offered by Missouri and Arkansas.

"Right now I am glad to receive offers, but I want to keep my options open," said Zimple. "I want to take things slow and make sure that I make the right decision for all the right reasons. I want to make sure that college can take care of me academically, especially since I want to work somewhere in the science field."

"I have always liked Oklahoma and I have always been a fan," Zimple continued. "I went up there for Junior Day and they are always bragging on their academics and I am sure they are good. I like their academic support system and all the assistance they provide. I like all the coaches and they all seem to be good guys. Oklahoma is my favorite and if they offer I will commit to them."

Zimple has qualified.
