Las Vegas, Nev. five-star running back DeMarco Murray talks about his commitment to Oklahoma.
JH: Talk about your commitment to Oklahoma?
DM: "I just thought it was the best decision for me. I have a great relationship with Coach (Bob) Stoops and Coach (Cale) Gundy, and I am glad to be a Sooner now."
JH: Was your decision based just on your relationships with Coach Stoops and Coach Gundy? Those relationships have been in the works for three years now haven't they?
DM: "Yeah, I have known them for quite some time. They have become second nature to me. OU always seems to have been in my heart. I can talk about anything with Coach Stoops and Coach Gundy. They were the coaches that I felt most comfortable. It didn't hurt that my man Ryan Reynolds is at OU as well."
JH: Hey, you gave the entire Sooner nation a heart attack when you almost put that USC hat on.
DM: "I was just having a little fun. I thought it was funny."
JH: I thought you accidentally picked up the wrong hat?
DM: "Just a little fun. I was just scaring the people back home. I am glad to be a Sooner now."
JH: Your dad and aunt looked really happy?
DM: "They were and it was cool, because now I can be very happy about being a Sooner. Now I just need to get down there and we (OU) need to get back on track and win this thing (National Championship).
JH: How frustrating was this game for you. You didn't seem to get many opportunities?
DM: "In a way it was. In practice all the time me, (Michael) Goodson and (Emmanuel Moody) were doing good and we were getting all kind of chances to run the ball. We got into the game and it was mostly about the quarterbacks I guess. I guess he (coach) felt they were feeling it or something. I am not disappointed or anything because I have a great career ahead of me. Hey, this is the Army All-American game. I am just proud to be a part of it."
JH: At least you didn't get hurt or anything. Now you can save everything you got for when you arrive at OU?
DM: "Yes sir, yes sir. I can't wait for that."
Murray: I am glad to be a Sooner
