DOMINIQUE BROOKS, FS, 6Õ1, 195, 4.48, NORTH MESQUITE, TEXAS:
Brooks exploded on the Texas high school football scene last year and is now regarded as one of the top safety prospects in the country. Brooks will be a two-year starter this season after dominating at free safety a year ago coming up with 78 tackles, seven interceptions, four passes knocked down, two caused fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Brooks also returns kick and at times returned punts a year ago.
Brooks can bench 225 pounds, squats 335 and has a 34-inch vertical jump. Brooks also ran the 400M (50.7) and he runs the third leg on the mile relay.
Brooks attended this yearÕs NIKE camp and performed well. Brooks likes Texas, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
ÒWest Virginia is recruiting me the hardest,Ó said Brooks. ÒI really like Texas the best and Oklahoma has great coaches and nice facilities. I have family up there and I like the way they play defense. Their safeties are involved in every play it seems like.Ó
Brooks will take the test this summer.
