Injuries end Jones' playing career at OU

Sophomore defensive end forced to leave team with nagging back injuries, but will remain on scholarship

Ronbrose Jones, a 6-2 255 redshirt sophomore from Bristow, has been forced to give up football due to a re-occuring back injury.

Jones, who made one tackle last season a a backup defensive end, reportedly will remain on an academic scholarship, as long as he continues to make progress toward his degree.

Jones was one of Oklahomas' most highly recruited players and a Super Prep All-American when he signed with OU as a linebacker. He was moved to defensive end following his redshirt freshmen season and was slated to move to offensive tackle next season.
