TERRANCE TOLIVER, ATH, 6'5, 185, 4.4, HEMPSTEAD, TEXAS:
Terrance Toliver is one of the best all-around athletes in the state of Texas who is so good that he is being recruited on both sides of the ball. Toliver started as a freshman at Huntsville, Texas before moving to Hempstead, where he started as a sophomore.
Toliver played wide receiver at Huntsville and since he has been at Hempstead he has been a wide receiver, field goal kicker, punter, safety, kick returner and punt returner.
"It is tiresome and makes you real tired during the game, but it works out for the best," said Toliver. "In college, I know that I am just going to play receiver."
Toliver caught 30 passes for 540 yards and 10 touchdowns last season and he scored a touchdown on one punt return and one kick return. He also added five field goals and averaged a little over 30 yards a punt.
"I wasn't a good punter," said Toliver with a chuckle. "I was only out there because we didn't have anybody else to punt. I think I am going to punt again this year, but I hope we find somebody better."
Toliver can bench 210 pounds, squats 300 and has a vertical jump of 30.5 inches. He runs the 4X100 (first leg), 4X400 (third leg), 4X200 (third leg) and he has made the state finals in the long jump (24'6), which broke the regional record.
Toliver went to the recent camp in College Station where he performed very well and proved to be one of the best receivers at the camp. He is unsure what camps he will make it to this summer due to transportation.
He has been offered by Oklahoma, LSU, Kansas State, Arizona, Colorado, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Kansas, Northwestern, Kansas State and Miami.
"I like Oklahoma, LSU, Miami and USC, who is supposed to offer soon," said Toliver. "USC is supposed to come to my school, but I was gone to a track meet. I also like Texas Tech."
What are Tolliver's thoughts on OU?
"Oklahoma is real good," said Toliver. "Oklahoma has good running backs and good quarterbacks, and they always have great wide receivers. I think I could fit into the offense at Oklahoma very well. OU has a great winning history."
Toliver has qualified.
