Recruiting: Sooners in the mix for Cali QB?

Orange County, Calif. quarterback Aaron Corp profile.

Aaron Corp is one of those franchise type quarterbacks that we are going to hear about on a national level. Aaron broke into the starting line-up as a sophomore and has developed into one of the very best quarterbacks in the land.

"I would say that I am pretty mobile quarterback," said Corp. "We run the veer at our school sometimes, but we also throw it a bunch. I threw a number of different passes well and my arm strength has improved. My speed has improved since I started my sophomore year."

Corp threw for 2,000 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore year while leading his team to the CIF Championship. In the championship game, Corp was 11 for 12 for 150 yards and he also rushed for 120 yards. Last season Corp threw for 1,800 yards and 15 touchdowns, and he rushed for close to 700 yards and eight touchdowns.

"Most of the time I work under center," said Corp. "We are not just a veer option team. We have a pretty elaborate passing game as well."

Aaron was the sixth man in basketball, can bench 225 pounds, squats 315 and he has posted a 30-inch vertical jump.

Corp has been offered by all the Pac-10 schools but Stanford and Oregon State, as well as Nebraska, Colorado and Ole Miss.

"I am looking at USC, Cal and Arizona State," said Corp. "Oklahoma is another school that I am looking at. They are alright, but I haven't got an offer by them. I don't know much about them, but I am getting recruited by them now and we will see what happens. USC is my favorite. I don't plan on dragging out the recruiting process. I will probably commit soon."

Corp has already qualified.
