Hoops: Juco point guard has OU in final two

Panola Junior College PG Marvin Kilgore talks about his game, favorites and interest in Oklahoma.

JH: What kind of year did you have?

MK: "I finished the season averaging 14 points and six assists per game."

JH: How would you describe your game?

MK: "I am an aggressive player. I am at my best when I am breaking people down and getting to the hole. I can score, pass and I can play both guards position. I am primarily a point guard, but I can play the two."

JH: How is your recruiting shaping up?

MK: "I am down to Oklahoma and UTEP."

JH: You got interested in Oklahoma late, so how did that come about?

MK: "Coach Capel just started calling me and texting me the last couple of weeks. He said he got a tape of mine from my coach and that he likes my game. We have been communicating that way and we have developed a pretty good relationship."

JH: So what are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

MK: "I like Oklahoma. I have always liked Oklahoma. I have watched Oklahoma on TV. I knew Coach Capel when he played at Duke and I watched him when he coached at VCU. I like him. He seems like he is a cool guy. I know he knows his basketball and I think he is a guy that I can certainly build a relationship with."

JH: Are you going to visit OU?

MK: "I am either going to visit OU this week or next week."

JH: Have you already visited UTEP?

MK: "I visited there in September. I visited UTEP and Bradley. I like them both and they are places where I could fit in and play."

JH: Do you have a leader?

MK: "I am still trying to decide among the three schools. I haven't been to OU before, so I am looking forward to my visit."

JH: What are going to be the keys in your decision?

MK: "Playing time is a major factor for me. Getting along with the coach is another factor and just feeling comfortable within the point guard."
