Devon Still, DE, 6'5 ½, 251, 4.9, WILMINGTON (HOWARD SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY) DELEWARE:
Devon Still is a beast along the defensive line with the ability break through double-teams, and the ability to force teams to gameplan how they are going to try to block him.
Still broke into the starting line-up as a freshman at defensive end and offensive tackle, and he has been entrenched into those spots ever since.
"I love playing defensive end because it allows me to be real physical, and I love the contact," said Still. "My quickness and strength really helps me a great deal and I think sets me apart on the field."
Still finished last season with 55 tackles, 21-tackles-for-loss, five sacks and four forced fumbles. Those stats were put together in just the first half of all Still's games, because Howard was so good that most of the time he didn't get a chance to play in the second half. Howard lost only one game last year and that was in the first round of the playoffs.
Still can bench 315 pounds and he has posted a 28-inch vertical jump as a sophomore. Still also starts in hoops averaging 10 points per game, and he throws the shot (47'5 ¼) in track and field.
Still attended the Elite Combine in New Jersey and felt he gave a good account of himself.
"I did really well," said Still. "I felt I dominated in the one-on-one's."
Still has been offered by 20 different schools at this point, but he is keeping an open mind on recruiting.
"I am still considering all the schools that have offered me," said Still. "I am still considering Penn State, Miami, Florida State, Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland. I am also considering Oklahoma, and I have been offered by Oklahoma. Tennessee is another school that I am looking at."
"I am not really sure about Oklahoma yet or know what to think about them. I have never seen them in person," said Still. "I hope to go down there sometime in the summer and see for myself what Oklahoma is like. I have watched Oklahoma a couple of times on television."
"The depth chart and academics are what will be important to me," said Still. "I want to major in Art and I need a school with a good Art program. It doesn't matter if I play early and I don't mind redshirting, but I just want to make sure that there are not so many defensive ends on the roster that are just a year or two ahead of me."
