DAVID NIXON, LB, 6'3, 205, 4.56, COLLEGE STATION A&M CONSOLIDATED, TEXAS:
Nixon may be the most underrated linebacker in Texas, because he didn't actually start last year.
"I led our team in tackles, sacks and tackles for losses. So, I was actually a starter without being a starter. I really can't tell you why I didn't start last year, but I was in the game early in the first quarter and then I played most of the game."
Nixon finished with 87 tackles, 12 ½ sacks, 15 tackles for losses and two fumble recoveries. Nixon went to the Texas A&M and BYU summer camps. He also attended the NIKE camp in College Station back in May. Nixon can bench 290 pounds, squats 440 and he has a 31-inch vertical jump.
"I have never played inside linebacker," said Nixon. "So, I guess I am an outside linebacker, but to be honest I will play anywhere they will let me play in college, so just call me a linebacker."
Nixon has been offered by Texas A&M, Arizona and BYU at this point.
"I have had several schools that have shown a great interest in me, but those three have been the schools that have stepped up and offered," said Nixon. "I think I will make a commitment sometime in the next couple of weeks and I really have it down to Texas A&M and BYU at this point. I would be interested in UCLA and Oklahoma if they would offer. However, Oklahoma and Texas are the only two schools not to contact me, but if they did I would get interested."
