Matt Szymanski, PK, 6'2, 190, A&M Consolidated, Texas:

A good place kicker is worth his weight in gold, and with that being the case Matt Szymanski is worth a great deal too any college who signs him. Rated the No. 2 kicker in the country, Szymanski realizes that he is ranked in elite territory.

"It feels good, but I don't really notice it," said Szymanski. "There are not many times where kickers are rated as the top-rated players. So it is a different thing, but I appreciate it."

Szymanski has one of the strongest legs in the country and he is so good at what he does that he can control a game with his leg.

"My stats were pretty good last year. Snce I do all the kicking I am on the field a lot," said Szymanski. "I hit 85 to 90 percent of my kick-offs where they were touchbacks and out of the end zone. On field goals, I made 19-for-26 with a long of 61 yards. I also had a 52, 48 and 47 yard field goals. As a punter, I averaged 39 yards per punt. I would like to do both in college and most colleges are recruiting me to both kick and punt."

Szymanski lives right next door to Texas A&M and he committed to the Aggies early, but it may not be a strong commitment.

"I am committed to Texas A&M, but there are other schools that are recruiting me that have offered me scholarships," said Szymanski. "Notre Dame, LSU and Oklahoma have offered me. Florida is also interested in me. I am really pretty open to anything right now. I am not closing anything out. I have a good interest in Oklahoma. I went to the kicking camp at OU and it was a good experience. I was able to see things at OU that I couldn't see before when they actually had a kicking camp.

"Before they just had kickers kick a little bit, but it wasn't like this past year when you had some great kicking coaches former OU greats Uwe Von Schamann and Scott Blanton). OU has a nice campus, but I didn't get to see as much as I wanted to. I like the stadium and the football facility itself."

Oklahoma is not the only school that Szymanski has visited.

"I have seen LSU," Samanski said. "I went to a junior day up there. Notre Dame contacted me and told me that they were offering a scholarship. They want me to come up and see them. They offered me as both a kicker and punter. I am still committed to Texas A&M and I know more about them than any other schools. My interest in Texas A&M is very high. I am not going to eliminate any schools, I want to think over my offers. I don't think I am going to take any official visits, but I guess that remains to be seen."

Szymanski has qualified.
