See inside for the latest news and notes from Oklahoma's offseason football workouts. True freshman Gerald McCoy (pictured above) is one of many freshmen looking good so far. See inside for more details.

The Oklahoma strength and conditioning staff continues to rave about how talented this freshmen class is. It is very comparable to last year's, if not better at overall positions.

Jonathan Nelson impressed with his speed and agility, and Adron Tennell is putting on a show with his overall athletic ability. He needs to get stronger, but his overall athletic ability has been impressive in camp thus far.

Brandon Crow proved to be very strong, benching close to 260 pounds 18 times. Crow is also an incredibly hard worker and is not afraid of the heat.

Young safeties Nic Harris, Keenan Clayton and Quentin Carter continue to impress. With every workout, Harris continues to get bigger. He is currently going through workouts at 225 pounds. Clayton is faster than Harris and currently weighs 218. Carter is showing the maturity of a junior and getting bigger every week.

Juaquin Iglesias may be the fastest receiver, but Adrian Peterson and Allen Patrick are the fastest offensive players in camp.

Lewis Baker is finally putting on a little weight. He has added eight pounds since the Holiday Bowl and is now at 211. He hopes to be at 220 by the time the season rolls around.

Reggie Smith is drawing rave reviews, even from his fellow teammates in camp. Reggie appears to be taking his game to another level. Brian Jackson is coming along and is close to being back to 100 percent.

Zach Latimer will be cleared in July for full workouts. He is doing everything but upperbody lifting right now due to his shoulder. He is doing dumbbell work. He says he is doing great.

Lamont Robinson is busting his fanny and loves OU. He still always has a smile on his face, which is great to see. He looks good as well. At some point in his career, he will help OU in a great way. Don't count him out on special teams.

Brett Bowers is also working hard. He is up to 209 and he is another player that should not be counted out to play in some fashion next season.

Demarrio Pleasant is having a great camp and is now up to 235 pounds.

You don't think Gerald McCoy wants it bad? McCoy goes through two Smitty workouts a day, as he double dips with two different groups. This cat is something special!
