The Sooners and Hurricanes, who are first (Oklahoma) and third (Miami) in wins since 2000, have not met since a 1987 matchup in the Orange Bowl and in Norman since 1985. The Hurricanes lead the overall series 3-2.
The season opener will be against North Texas on September 1 in Norman. OU will also play Utah State on Owen Field on September 15 and travel to Tulsa on September 22 to complete the non-conference slate.
"These games fit our philosophy of providing a challenging, yet balanced schedule that prepares our team for the rigors of Big 12 Conference play and a run at post season championships," said OU Athletics Director Joe Castiglione in an press release on SoonerSports.com.
"The process becomes a little more challenging each year, but we are always working to complete our scheduling in a timely fashion to give our campus and fans the appropriate time to plan events. We are pleased that we can announce the 2007 schedule more than a year before it begins."
