Hoops: Sooner commit is on the rise

Edmond, Okla. forward Blake Griffin rose 11 spots in the latest Scout.com Top 100 rankings. Griffin committed to the Sooners despite holding offers from defending national champion Florida, Kansas, Illinois and UConn.

Griffin, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Oklahoma Christian School in Edmond, Okla., is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation among the top seniors-to-be in 2007. He is also ranked as the 6th-best power forward.

He began the summer ranked No. 23, but saw his stock rise after his impressive performance at the Kingwood Classic in Houston. Before his commitment to Oklahoma on May 13, Griffin received offers from schools like Kansas, Florida, Illinois, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Texas and UConn.
