Christian Scott, S, 6-0, 195, 4.5, DALLAS (SKYLINE HS), TEXAS:

JH: ESPN just came out with their top 150 players and you were ranked as the 20th-best player in the country. What do you think about that?

CS: "That is my first time to hear about it. That sounds nice. I am very glad they think that highly of me. I had not heard about until you just told me. That is a great ranking for me. I am going to try even harder to get an even better ranking next time."

JH: Do you pay attention to what certain magazines or Internet sites are saying about you?

CS: "I do a little bit, but not really. I check out different things to see what people think of me. Most of the time it is magazines like Texas Football and that kind of stuff and I read about myself and other players. I don't know how many of these players we will play, but I am looking forward to it."

JH: Many prep and college football coaches feel you are the best prep safety in the country. When you hear that kind of talk, what do you think? CS: "That sounds good. I am glad to be named that and I am going to work hard to make that pay off. Hard work will make that kind of talk pay off."

JH: How are your summer workouts going?

CS: "Monday through Thursday I go to the school and lift weights and do conditioning. Then I also grab my cousin and my friends and we go to the rec center and play pick-up basketball, and ghat keeps us in shape. I feel I am getting a little faster and that I am getting a little bigger. I think I am getting all of that."

JH: Have you taken any other unofficial visits recently?

CS: "No, I haven't. OU was the last place that I visited. I am supposed to visit Texas on July 30 and that will be my last visit before practice starts."

JH: What are your thoughts on your recruiting at this time?

CS: "With OU being the only school that I have visited, the Sooners are very high on my list. I love OU and that visit was great for me. I have set up this visit to Texas and I will go there and see their campus and stuff. I did make it to SMU for a little bit and I talked to their coaches. I have also talked to LSU and Texas A&M."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma at this time?

CS: "I love the coaches at OU. There are a lot of OU fans in the city and I talk to them all the time. I had a great time up there. I have built a relationship with coach (Bob) Stoops, coach Chris Wilson, coach (Brent) Venables and coach (Bobby Jack) Wright. Getting a great relationship with the coaches is very important because I am going to be dealing with them every day. I think that is very important — to get a good relationship with the coaches."

JH: Do you think you will commit early or will it be after your senior season?

CS: "I am not sure when I will commit. I guess it will just be when I am ready."
