SAM ACHO, DE, 6'3, 247, 4.67, DALLAS (SAINT MARK'S), TEXAS:

Many players totally jump out at you on film, and that is certainly the case with Sam Acho. Now that his film is getting around, college coaches are beginning to do everything they can to find out the latest on this super defensive end prospect in Texas. Acho drawing attention from some of the best teams in college football, and that will continue to happen as college coaches get out to see him play.

Acho started half the season at Saint Mark's his freshman year and since then he been a two-year starter. He is a tremendous pass rusher, but plays both the run and the pass equally well. He is not sure of his stats, but you can bet that he has over 20 tackles for loss and he is in double digits in sacks.

Acho admits that the new attention coming his way certainly is not a negative for him, despite the new demands on his time.

"It is good for me. That is for sure. The more people that talk about me and the more that people see me, the more exposure that I can get. That just means more people are interested in me and that I will have more options to choose from."

Acho is a tremendous athlete that plays with great energy, which is what sets him apart from many other defensive ends. He benches 315 pounds and squats over 400, starts in basketball and throws the shot and discus in track.

Acho attended the Vanderbilt senior, the OSU satellite camp and the USC camp.

"I went to the Vanderbilt and the OSU camp as a tight end and did well, and the USC camp as a defensive end and did very well there."

Acho has been offered by Oklahoma State, TCU, SMU, Virginia, Tulsa, Rice and Iowa, but has a number of other schools talking to him including Oklahoma.

"I have official offers from those schools mentioned, but USC and Stanford have both told me that they are sending offers. California has also told me that they are going to offer me. I have been in contact with OU. They text (messaged) me today and I called them back. They want me to send some more tape to them. They indicate they are going to offer in the future."

Now that more and more schools are beginning to offer, what is Acho thinking as far as recruiting goes?

"I am open to everyone to be honest. There are a couple of schools who are up there, but I am open to everybody. Stanford, USC, Virginia, Iowa, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and TCU are schools that I like the most. I am still waiting to hear from Oklahoma what they want to do. I have an interest in OU and Cal is up there. If Oklahoma offers then I will have a great interest in them."

What is the most important criteria in recruiting for Acho?

"Academics are No. 1 with me. I want to go to a school where I can get a great education. I am looking to major in business marketing or something along those lines. That is not concrete yet."

Acho has qualified.
