OU-Texas battle shaping up for Dallas safety?

Dallas, Texas safety Christian Scott compares his unofficial visits to Oklahoma and Texas.

Christian Scott, FS, 6'0, 195, 4.4, DALLAS (SKYLINE HS), TEXAS:

JH: Practice has started for you, so are you ready? Did you have a good summer?

CS: "We worked hard this summer and I was able to put on some good weight. I am good and strong right now and my physical turned out to be real good. I am ready to go and I am looking forward to practice. We started this past Monday and have been working in just helmets and shorts, but tomorrow we get to put on full pads."

JH: You went to the University of Texas recently for an unofficial visit. How did that go?

CS: "It was a good visit. I checked out the campus and they have a nice campus, big stadium. They are supposed to be putting in the biggest video screen in college football. That thing is supposed to be nice. I met the coaches and they were nice, and some of the players. Everything was nice there."

JH: Did they offer you on the visit?

CS: "They had offered me before at the beginning of the summer. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I am not ready to commit anywhere. I wouldn't be able to make the best decision at this time."

JH: So you have had a written offer from them for some time?

CS: "Yes, that is correct."

JH: How is your recruiting shaping up at this point?

CS: "I would say that the two schools that I have visited — Texas and — OU would be in my top five. Then I have LSU, Florida State and Texas A&M."

JH: Since you have visited both OU and UT, can you compare the two?

CS: "Both of them are real nice and are located in nice cities. I did like the campus at Texas a little bit better, but I felt more comfortable at OU and felt more like family at OU."

JH: What are your thoughts on OU at this point?

CS: "I believe that would be a real good place to go to. It would be a great place where I could fit in. I like the facilities, the coaches and players. I feel that I could do real well at OU."

JH: Are you concerned about the depth chart at safety among the schools that you are interested in?

CS: "Yeah, I believe that is very important. That is something that I have to find out at each school — how many players are at my position and what do they think of them. Do they have starters coming back or just players who are just on the depth chart? Those are questions I need to ask."

JH: How good is Skyline going to be this year?

CS: "I believe we are going to be pretty good. We need a couple of players to step up. But I believe we are doing to do well."
