Catching up with OU commit Desmond Jackson

Is the 4-star DB thinking about other schools despite his commitment?

Desmond Jackson, CB, 6-1, 196, 4.5 SEGUIN, TEXAS:

JH: How did you summer go?

DJ: "My summer went real well. I stayed in the weight room and got a little bigger and stronger. I also played a little 7-on-7 and went to the UTEP, Texas, and Oklahoma State camp down in Houston."

JH: So how big and strong are you now?

DJ: "I weigh 196 and I am now 6-foot-1. I can bench 305 and my squat went up to 450."

JH: Where are you guys at as far as practice goes?

DJ: "We have a scrimmage at Georgetown coming up on Friday. I will play both cornerback and wide receiver, and I am the punt and kick returner. I am going to be on the field all the time."

JH: Are you still committed to OU?

DJ: "Yes sir, I am."

JH: Since your commitment to OU, has your life changed at all?

DJ: "My life hasn't really changed at all. When I get on the field it makes me work harder. Not only do I have my high school to play hard for, but I know now that I have something to look forward to following high school that will give me a chance to be a success in life. I am working really hard to make sure all my dreams come true."

JH: Do you match-up against the other team's best receiver all the time?

DJ: "If they have a great receiver then I am going to be matched-up with him all night. But other than that I go where our coverage is called."

JH: Do you plan on just taking an official visit to OU?

DJ: "At least two."

JH: Are you still hearing from other schools despite your commitment to OU?

DJ: "I still get letters from other schools. I still get letters from Arizona and Arkansas, and I guess most of the schools that have offered me. But I only talk to Oklahoma."

JH: So you might take more than just the official visit to OU?

DJ: "I am still thinking right now, but my prime choice is Oklahoma. I am considering visiting Arkansas or Iowa to see what they have, but right now my eyes are all on Oklahoma. That would be just to compare Oklahoma to another school."

JH: So are you a solid commitment to OU?

DJ: "Yes sir."
