Recruiting: Wilson set to visit Norman

The latest on Carrollton, Texas wide receiver Corey Wilson.

Corey Wilson, WR, 6-0, 185, 4.47, CARROLLTON, TEXAS:

JH: Are you ready for your first game? And how have you done in your scrimmage games?

CW: "We scrimmaged Allen last Friday and we play our first game this Friday Irving Nimitz. I did alright right in the scrimmage. I caught two passes for about 24 yards. I also had four runs and averaged about 10 yards per carry."

JH: Are teams paying more attention to you now that you are known as one of the best wide receivers in Texas?

CW: "Yes, very much. I know when we scrimmaged Allen, who we have never played before, that after two plays the coaches started to point out where I was lining up and they started shading a safety my way. I am not used to that. That is kind of new for me, but I need to get used to it."

JH: Do you have to beat double teams?

CW: "Yes, always. But I am not going to be stopped by double teams. I heard Chad Johnson say that double teams are just like one-on-ones, because the first guy never stops me anyway."

JH: Are you coming to Norman for the UAB game?

CW: "Yes, I am coming to Oklahoma this weekend but it won't be my official visit. Coach (Kevin) Sumlin and I talked about it being my official visit, but I can't stay the whole weekend so I want to take my official visit another time."

JH: What are your thoughts on Oklahoma?

CW: "They are still my favorite. I have been close a couple of times to committing. I was going to commit this weekend on my visit, but now that it is not official I am not going to do that. I am still going to think about it a little bit. If signing day was tomorrow I would sign with OU, but it isn't and I am still going to think about it a little bit."

JH: It seems you really like OU a lot. What is keeping you from committing?

CW: "I am just having talks with people who have been in this position before, and they tell me to not rush everything. I have talked to Travis and others who have gone through the recruiting process, and they tell me how important this decision is. I know it is a very important decision and I just want to make sure that I am making the right decision."

JH: Are there really any other schools involved with you besides OU?

CW: "I would say Colorado State and Kansas State, and that is because I like the coaches who are recruiting me. But nobody compares to Oklahoma. I have turned down a lot of good schools and stopped communication with some schools because I like Oklahoma so much."
