Recruiting: Louisiana DE set for first visit

Baton Rouge defensive end Frank Alexander talks about his upcoming visit to Norman.

Frank Alexander, DE, 6-3, 241, 4.8, BATON ROUGE (SOUTHERN LAB SCHOOL), LA:

JH: How did your opening game go?

FA: "We played last Thursday and we won by one point. I think I played well. I had two or three sacks and four tackles. I also had a fumble recovery and a safety. Then at tight end, I made a block on a running play that scored a touchdown. I didn't catch any passes, but I had a couple thrown my way. They were high and on one of them the defense picked up a pass interference penalty."

JH: Who is up next on your schedule?

FA: "We play Capitol High on Thursday. They are a 3A school. We are a 1A school and beat a 4A school last week. Then next week we play a 2A school so we are going to be playing up until our district starts."

JH: Are you still playing defensive end?

FA: "I play defensive end on the strongside of the field?

JH: Are most colleges recruiting you to play defensive end?

FA: "Yes sir. Most schools are. If they are not recruiting me as a defensive end, they are recruiting me as a tight end."

JH: Are you visiting OU this weekend?

FA: "Yes sir. I am coming down there Friday."

JH: Will this be your first official visit?

FA: "Yes sir. This will be my first official visit."

JH: Have you scheduled any other visits at this time?

FA: "No sir."

JH: Did you visit OU unofficially?

FA: "No sir. I have never been to OU. This will be first time in Oklahoma."

JH: What will are you looking for during your visit to OU?

FA: "I will be looking at the environment, and I look forward to seeing the campus. I want to see how the people are and what they are like. I want to check out the academic center. I want to find out about their academic program and what kind of graduation rate they have."

JH: What do you know about OU's football program as you head to Norman this weekend?

FA: "I know they have won a National Championship and they have played in back-to-back National Championship games. I know they win a lot of games and have a great program. I have watched Oklahoma a lot and I am looking forward to coming down there and seeing what they are all about."

JH: What schools are you still considering in recruiting?

FA: "I like OU, LSU, Miami, Florida, Florida State, Clemson Auburn, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. All of these schools have offered me, but I don't have a top five at the moment."
