Recruiting: Louisiana DE impressed with visit

Baton Rouge, La. defensive end Frank Alexander talks about his trip to Norman.

Frank Alexander, DE, 6-3, 241, BATON ROUGE (SOUTHERN LAB HS), LOUISIANA:

JH: How was your visit to Oklahoma this weekend?

FA: "I really enjoyed the visit to OU. I loved the whole atmosphere at Oklahoma, and their teammates were real cool. They made me feel like I was at home. The coaches were real cool and stuff."

JH: What did you learn about the OU football program or the university that you didn't know before?

FA: "I basically knew a lot about Oklahoma, because I used to follow Oklahoma. The people were great and I was impressed how the fans were really in the game and really support the team. I liked the indoor facility. It was nice. I didn't know they had the Roy Williams weight room. He donated the money and it is real nice. I went out on the campus and it was real nice. All the classes were within walking distance. You don't have to go out too far."

JH: Did you get to get out and see the town at all or enjoy the nightlife at OU?

FA: "We went to a party at one of the teammates' house. My host was Chris Brown and I really enjoyed hanging out with him. I had heard about Chris before being from Louisiana, but this was the first time I met him. He was a great guy."

JH: What did coach Stoops and coach Chris Wilson talk to you about on the visit?

FA: "They were telling me about the same they were telling me before — that they were graduating a bunch of defensive ends and the opportunity is there for me to come in and get some early playing time. I can tell they would really like to have me over there."

JH: Where does Oklahoma stand as far as recruiting right now?

FA: "I would probably say they are my top school. I don't even know what other schools I am considering. I didn't really consider committing to them, but I wanted to. I need to talk to my parents and let them know what I liked about Oklahoma."

JH: How did things go in your last game?

FA: "We played Thursday and won 30-8. On offense, I caught two touchdown passes and I threw a major block for our running back to score. I also made four tackles, and I had four sacks that caused a fumble.
