Stephen Garcia, QB, 6-3, 212, 4.7, TAMPA (JEFFERSON HS), FLORIDA:
JH: How are you feeling? The last time we tried to talk you were sick?
SG: "I am just getting over my cold right now. It set me back a little bit, but didn't keep me out of any games."
JH: How did things go last Friday?
SG: "I finished with 60 yards rushing and 210 yards passing. I didn't have any touchdowns, and that is what killed us. I hit our tight end in the stomach in the end zone and their guy ripped it from us and kept us from scoring. It was very disappointing to not win that game. That was the No. 1 team in Class 4A and that is the toughest class in the state. We should have won that game by four touchdowns, but we lost 13-6 to Armwood. They scored on a 57-yard pass on 3rd-and-25 down to our 8-yard line. They punched it in from there. They scored their other touchdown on a 95-yard kick-off return. That was devastating."
JH: How well did you throw the ball?
SG: "I had two or three bad throws that I wish I could have back. Other than that, I think I played pretty well."
JH: What are your season stats?
SG: "They have to be around 950 yards passing with eight touchdowns and two picks. I also have about 250 yards rushing."
JH: What is the latest in recruiting for you?
SG: "My top five are still South Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Auburn. Recruiting has calmed down since the season started, which is OK with me. I have just been relaxing and trying to concentrate on my season."
JH: Have you talked to Oklahoma lately?
SG: "I talked to Coach Heupel last night. My relationship with Oklahoma is going real well. He talks to my dad a lot, but I am supposed to talk to him tonight."
JH: Where does Oklahoma stand with you?
SG: "They are probably third with me right now. Or maybe second."
JH: Is South Carolina still your leader?
SG: "Yes, South Carolina is still my top team."
JH: Will you take all your visits?
SG: "I am definitely going to take my visit, and I am going to visit Oklahoma. I am not sure when I will take those visits."
